We loved seeing all the kids who turned out with their parents at J&R Jr. in downtown Manhattan for the KidzVuz Family Photography Day. The hands-on workshops led by Jessica Levey of RisingShutterbug.com were a huge hit. The kids were all loaned Canon cameras for their lesson, which started out with a brief presentation to learn the basics of lighting, focus and composition. Then they set out on a photography scavenger hunt all over J&R Jr. to use their new skills and create some really cool pictures!
Meanwhile parents got to see the latest fabulous cameras from Sony, Nikon and Canon. Plus, each kid chose their favorite photo and made a gorgeous print on the super portable and high-quality Canon SELPHY printer. Parents loved it so much many of them purchased them on the spot! This printer seriously rules and is our pick for Mother’s Day and for kids’ parties. You can’t beat printing on demand like this!
Check out the great photos from the event. Many were taken by the great NYC event photographer Josh Strauss, and others by kids themselves. We bet you can guess which ones were shot by the kids!

That little girl is so, so, SO adorable!! What a great shot.
Wish I could’ve been there – I’m on the cusp of investing in a nice digital SLR and need advice, tips, etc.
