KidzVuz Digital Kids Safety Breakfast

The day before the Digital Kids Conference began as part of New York Toy Fair International, KidzVuz hosted a Digital Kids Safety Breakfast at KTCHN restaurant for 35 New York area digital influencers. Turns out, there’s a lot Mom Bloggers want to know about Digital Safety and their kids!

Here’s what our KidzVuz office looked like in the days before the breakfast.  Swag was arriving in droves!

And this is what it looks like to bring 40 swag bags stuffed with goodies from @DiscoveryBayEnt, @RideMakerz, @drinkpremama, @tagamotoUS (and more) in a taxi, at 7am, in the pouring rain!

But then we got to KTCHN, the restaurant on 42nd Street where the event was held, and when we saw the beautiful food and lovely space…well, it was all worth it! (even the freezing rain!)

We had some pretty awesome sponsors!

Brian Ponterelli from @Inversoft talked about how his company’s CleanSpeak technology offers brands a way to keep the kids who use their sites safer, by filtering out profanity, hate speech, bullying, and more.

Privo’s Denise Tayloe told us all about what COPPA is and why we should care.  So why should we?  Because COPPA is what keeps our kids safe from misleading or overly aggressive marketers, and is what keeps their personal information safe.

The digital influencers in the room had LOTS of questions.  Thanks to @techliciousmoms, @GayNYCDad, @crazedmom, @mommyfactor, @C2CMom, @MomMostTraveled, @quirkyfusion and more for joining us for a great conversation.

And, oh yeah.  Once the bag were finally assembled and made it to the restaurant, they looked like this! (And here are held by @IsabelKallman, @MommasGoneCity, and @SelfishMom.)
