Cool Gear for Babies and an Awesome Giveaway

You may be wondering why a site for tweens is telling you about cool baby stuff.  Easy.  We have tweens.  And the ‘tude sometimes makes us nostalgic for the baby days.  Plus, you have friends, right?  And nieces and nephews, and maybe even a little one of your own. So here a few new things we’ve found that would make great gifts – or be great for your own little one.  We discovered most of  them when our friends at Trumpeting Media Invited us to the BabyCargo “Travel in Style” event at the beautiful, luxe yet super family friendly Penninsula Hotel in midtown Manhattan. (Plus, they have a great spa.  Ditch the kids with Dad for a few hours and check it out!)

imageBubble Bum: The world’s first ever blow up booster seat -This thing is genius.  Small enough to stick in a backpack, but a truly functional booster seat for your rental car of taxi ride. Weighs less than a pound, fits into its own little sack. And purple.  We like purple.

buggyguard Stroller Lock – this probably isn’t allimage that necessary outside of a walking city like NY.  But it is still worth a mention.  You lock your bike when you leave it outside, right?  Use buggyguard to secure your stroller too — anywhere you need to “park” it – zoos, restaurants, theme parks and more.. Plus, it’s cute.

imageDiaperBuds – Freeze dried diapers.  Well, not really, but vacuum packet so they take up a fraction of the space.  Perfect for plane rides or long days on the road.  They even make SwimmieBuds – for super absorbent swim diapers that you can take anywhere.

Citrus Lane – this is a genius idea from a _CPB0030x-lowresentrepreneur (a woman, of course): every month you get a cute little box filled with all sort of goodies selected based on your child’s age.  One month it might be organic snacks and skin car products.  Another month, it could be a sweet little onesie and a special waterproof sac for snacks or gear.  It’s like getting a gift every month, and everything is available retail.  (There is a monthly subscription fee, but what you get is worth more than what you pay.) Plus, Citrus lane lets you try before you buy.

Lazoo Products – I can’t pick just one.  These stuffed animals, beautifully made clothes, bibs, bags, books and accessories and just so darn cute.  But not icky cute – kinda hip and downtown cute.  I love the doll face backpack. It really is just a stuffed doll face with a zipper.  Adorable.  And their sticker book reminds me of the old standby Doodle Book where they start the project for you and you finish.  But made easier with stickers for the younger set.

EZ Paint – this pint on the go product, developed by a single mom, is great for travel.  No spilling, no water needed, brushes included. Non toxic and washable.  The colors are great – from standards to neon brights, and they come with coloring cards, or design your own. We love this stuff.

_CPB0029x-lowresAnd of course, lightweight, chic and architecturally inspired babycargo strollers and travel gear to help you lug it all around!

Next post we’ll be back to big kids.  But isn’t it nice to remember when you could dress your own kids in cute stuff like Lazoo, or buy fun travel gear and nifty futuristic strollers?  Or maybe you just like to be reminded that you no longer need a booster seat, a diaper bag, or a bazillion dollar stroller.

Yeah.
